Rex FKA Socks
“The process was fun and very much like speed dating for dogs.”
My husband and I adopted Rex (fka Socks) from Saving Grace back in 2016. At the time, we had adopted an Australian Shepherd puppy and decided she needed a friend. We filled out the adoption paperwork and made an appointment, bringing our Aussie – Maya – with us. We wanted a second dog that was about her size and could keep up with her energy level. The process was fun and very much like speed dating for dogs. She met several dogs and had the best interaction with Rex who went home with us that night.
They are wonderful together and truly adore each other. Rex is a hoot – he has such a silly, goofy personality and is in general just the happiest dog. We take them to the lake every summer and they get along great with everyone, lounging in the sun, playing in the water and riding on the boat.
I enjoyed the adoption process and what SG does so much that I became a volunteer after we adopted Rex. I can’t say how much I appreciate Saving Grace and all the people there. From the very beginning of the dog’s journey on their freedom ride to the farm, to all the many, many volunteers who care for them. And of course, Molly and all she does. It’s such a wonderful village of people helping the dogs find their furever homes.
