On May 14, 2024, we adopted our sweetheart Shepsky, Keira Sky! She had been known as “Tulip” during her time at Saving Grace. When Keira came into our lives, we had been participating in the host weekends at Saving Grace for a couple of months. Back in March, we had lost our previous German Shepherd to leukemia, leaving a huge hole in our hearts, and were looking to ease that pain through weekend hosting. We picked Keira up on a Friday evening and within 24 hours, we were in love. Within 48 hours, we knew she was going to be a permanent member of our family! Neither of us had ever had a rescue dog before, so we didn’t quite know what to expect.
We were familiar with the 3-3-3 rule, but not knowing her background, we didn’t quite know what Keira would be like once she really settled. Let’s just say that Saving Grace does an AMAZING job at finding dogs with great temperaments. Keira has continued to be the sweetest, most gentle dog we have ever met. She’s playful, loves to cuddle, and is very attentive to us both. She has filled that hole in our hearts and continues to bring so much love and joy. We can’t say enough good things about our experience at Saving Grace and have even recently started volunteering there.
