Dakota FKA Demi
“When the volunteer at saving Grace picked Dakota up and put her in my arms, I had no idea how much my world was about to change.”
As we approach our first anniversary together, it’s impossible to describe how much happiness Dakota has brought to me. She helped ease some of the heartache from losing Luna and has always kept me smiling with her constant silly antics & demands to play. Through training classes with her, I’ve met new friends and learned so much about dogs.
It’s given me a new appreciation of how smart they are & how much they’re capable of. She introduced me to dog sports that I didn’t know existed. She even earned her AKC advanced trick dog title earlier this year and I couldn’t be prouder of her. She took to life on a horse farm like she’s meant to be here- and I know that she is. She’s given me so much to look forward to as we continue to train & learn new things. Dakota was given her name because it means “friend”- and that’s what she is- always there helping me through whatever life throws at me. I couldn’t have hand picked a better dog and am grateful for her every day.
I’m also grateful for Saving Grace who made it possible for us to find each other. I knew that I wanted to adopt since there are so many homeless dogs, but also wanted a German shepherd puppy which I knew could be a hard combination to find. I’m thankful that this organization exists to give so many dogs a chance. Dakota proudly wears her Saving Grace tag on her collar wherever she goes!
